Hello!
Meet Claire Simone
Casting Director | Owner | Casting TV, Film & Theatre
Although Claire has been casting professionally since 1996, her first casting gig was actually at the age of 10. While producing her second revival of The King and I in her garage, the neighborhood kids staged a revolt, and demanded a fair audition process after they discovered she was planning on giving herself the lead role for the second year in a row. She acquiesced and immediately held a casting session, after which she promptly cast herself again, stating that the whole thing was her idea in the first place, so she got to choose. Thankfully she’s evolved a bit since then, and her casting skills have been honed, so that the Chicago actors will never be in danger of her stealing their roles.
Most recently Claire had the distinct privilege of casting the first season of the Apple series, Dark Matter , Chicago Fire (11 seasons), Chicago PD (10 seasons), as well as the Disney series, Saturdays amongst others. She’s also worked with numerous regional and local theatres such as Northlight Theatre, Lyric Opera, Apollo Theatre, Asolo Repertory theatre, Indiana Repertory Theatre and the New Theatre in Kansas. A two time Artios winner for excellence in casting for her work on Empire and Prison Break, she is also a member of Casting Society and a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. When she isn’t casting you can find her climbing the Grand Canyon, or trying to finish her children’s book.
